Free Inquiry #5 – Balancing Mental Health & Content Creation
For my next post, I wanted to look into how influencers balance content creation and their mental health as I deal with mental health and don’t want to get overwhelmed with this new endeavour and experience burn out so before I start this endeavour I want to find some tools for balancing my mental health and content creation from actually content creators. Also since I wasn’t getting anywhere far with my research I have decided to look towards youtube for answers to my questions as most Youtubers also post on Instagram and so far I have found many more resources which have been much more helpful.
While looking for information on how to balance your mental health while trying to create content and I found this amazing youtube channel called Busy Blooming where she has a video posted called “Mental health starter-pack for content creators & entrepreneurs: How to stop mental breakdowns 🥲” which I found extremely helpful and interesting. In her video she talked about her mental health toolkit for content creation and I wanted to share the tools here: Her first tool in her tool kit was the mindset shift of that your wellness and self care is a business strategy and that being able to take a breath is not for wellness but for the business. The second tool she highlighted is the habit of “whats more important” which is the idea of not having to push through just to post and that taking breaks is good for you and your mental health should be your number one priority. The third tool is to separate your identity and value from your business and content creation so don’t become one with your business as that will take a toll on your mental health. Her fourth tool she highlighted was to create a work routine and boundaries that are custom to your mental and emotional needs. The fifth tool is to enter your Boss Era and get hype about your content so you can have more fun so you don’t spiral. The next tool which kinda goes along with tool five is to romanticize your work tasks. The last tool she mentioned was to find a systems to track your end of the week wins and progress because so many people focus on the negative so this tool helps you flip that narrative as well as finding connection within this world. After watching this video I feel quite inspired and I am definitely going to watch more of her content as I find her very knowledgeable and fun.
