Free Inquiry #7 – Disney Integration In The Classroom

Before I reflect back on this Inquiry project, I wanted to bring this idea of Disney storytelling back to the classroom and talk about some ways you can integrate Disney into your classroom as I hope to do this in the future. Throughout my digging, since this has been a great interest to me for a while now, I found two websites that talk about different projects and ways you can integrate Disney into the classroom and one of the websites is even from Disney. The Disney website talked some creative classroom projects that are inspired by Disney and I am going to list them here: and if you want to learn more about these projects I’m also going to list the website below as well.

  • Animated short film
  • Imagineering Design Challenge
  • World Showcase
  • Disney inspired STEM challenge
  • Geography with Disney
  • Environmental Conservation Campaign
  • Virtual Disney Travelogue
  • Creative Restaurant Design
  • Cultural Exploration through Disney

The other website I found talks about how to infuse Disney magic into postsecondary teaching and listed off five different strategies for an enhanced learning experience that I will list below: the website will also be linked below if you want to learn more.

  1. Teach Using Storytelling
  2. Create Dynamic learning environments
  3. Connect emotionally
  4. Foster creativity and innovation
  5. Seek ongoing improvement

Earlier I talked about how this has been a passion of mine for awhile and last semester in my Literacy class we got to create our own learning plans and I did mine on Disney so I thought I would link it below as another way for teachers to integrate Disney into the classroom. Overall, I believe that Disney can be and should be integrated into the classroom as Disney has lots of material and history to learn from.
