Weekly Reflection #5

During week 8, we had a presentation for our group POD assignment to go over our initial findings. My groups is doing our project on the impact of social media on transgender students so for my part of the project I looked up the pros and cons of social media but during my initial research I could only find articles on students in general and none the specified on transgender students. So to further my research I want to find more impacts of social media on transgender students and LGBT students. During the other POD presentations I learnt about internet safety, video games, screen time, AI and mental health, and the Gamification of Learning. In each of these presentations we had to write two stars and a wish on Padlet which was quite a useful tool because you can get complements on your projects as well as feedback which I really liked so people couldn’t just tear you apart on Padlet because it is anonymous. To further my research for my project I am definitely going to look back at my groups Padlet to see what kind of feedback I got on my part of the project. I also found some more research sites that other groups used that I am definitely gonna look into for my research which were the Canadian Paediatric Society and the Canadian Psychology Association. Overall this week was very informative as we got to see an insider look on everyones projects.
